Straight answers, including the awkward ones.
Where the product cannot do something, this page says so. A limitation you find in week one is worse than one you knew about before you installed it.
Getting started
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Open the app and scan your first receipt before you make an account. Anonymous accounts convert to permanent at any time without losing a single receipt.
Is there a password?
No. When you sign up you get a six-digit code by email — there is no password to invent or forget. Sessions persist across devices.
I have a truck full of receipts already.
Start with this month. The reports get better as the history builds, and supplier totals start being useful after a couple of weeks.
Which platforms is it on?
iOS and Android. There is no web app for end users — the work happens at the counter, on a phone.
How it works
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. There is no bank or card feed at all, and there never will be. Nothing to authorise, nothing to re-link, no credentials to hand over.
I am not going to type all that in.
You do not type anything. You take a photo and the AI reads the supplier, every line item, the tax and the total off the paper.
What if it reads the receipt wrong?
Every field is editable and the original photo stays attached. Receipts where the total or supplier came back unreadable are flagged for review rather than saved silently wrong, and images that are not receipts are rejected.
What about cash jobs and lost receipts?
Manual entry takes a supplier name and an amount. Everything else is optional, and the receipt still costs to a job like any other.
My subs give me invoices, not till receipts.
Photograph them the same way. The extractor reads invoices and counter receipts alike, and captures the invoice number when it is on the document. Reports flag which receipts are missing an invoice number so you can spot gaps before an accountant does.
Does it work if the same supplier prints its name five different ways?
That is what the supplier directory is for. Every spelling that resolves to a supplier is recorded against one durable record, so per-supplier totals are real numbers rather than five partial ones.
Jobs and reports
Can I split one receipt across two jobs?
No. A receipt goes to one job whole. Most people scan per job at the counter, or put a shared supply run against the job that took most of it. If splitting matters to you, this is a real limitation and worth knowing before you start.
Does it support cost codes or phases?
No. Jobs are flat — no phases, sub-jobs or cost codes, and one budget number per job. The working pattern for a multi-phase build is one job per phase, all under the same client, with the client expense report rolling them into one document. There is no limit on how many jobs you can have.
Can it tell me if I am making money on a job?
No, and it will not pretend to. The app records expenses only — there is no revenue, contract value or draw schedule in it, so it cannot compute profit or margin. What it tells you is exactly what a job has cost you, against the budget you set.
Does it do my taxes?
No. It produces a tax-ready report of your recorded expenses, split by category, with a potentially deductible total. It is not tax advice and it does not file anything.
Can I run a single quarter?
Yes. The tax report runs for a calendar year or any arbitrary quarter, which is what quarterly estimated tax actually needs.
Does it track mileage?
No. There is no mileage, trip or odometer data in the product at all.
What happens if I delete a job?
The receipts survive and become unassigned. Deleting a job never destroys expense history.
Plans and billing
Is scanning limited?
Each plan has a monthly scan allowance, and you are told when you are at 80% of it — never during a scan. Browsing and filtering your whole receipt pile is free and unlimited on every plan.
What do I actually pay for?
The reports. Capture is free by design and the camera never asks for money. The tax report, supplier spend report and monthly review sit on the paid tiers, and the per-job and per-client documents on the top tier.
Where do I see the price?
In the App Store and Google Play, and in the app itself. Billing runs through the stores — there is no web checkout.
How do I cancel?
Through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, the same as any other app subscription.
Data and privacy
Where do my receipt images go?
Receipt images are stored in cloud storage, and there is a privacy control in settings over whether they are kept at all.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from inside the app, and the data is hard-deleted afterwards. There is a page explaining exactly how.
Can I run more than one business?
Yes — up to five accounts per user, each with its own currency, timezone and colour, and all data scoped to the account.
Does it handle more than one currency?
Each account has one currency, which you set. There is no currency conversion and no multi-currency support.
