Every line item on every receipt feeds a price history, so the answer comes from what you actually paid rather than a published list price.

- Price trend direction and percentage — first half of a period against the second
- Per-supplier average and latest unit price, so you can see who is cheapest on it now

Search recognises what kind of answer you want and builds the right shape of result, not just a list of matches. "Materials last month" returns a spending summary. "Wolseley receipts" returns a supplier profile with purchase history. "Materials vs subcontractors" returns a side-by-side comparison. "What am I paying for 2x4 this year" returns the price history across the build.
Browsing is always free
Search lives inside the receipts tab. Browsing and filtering the receipt pile by job, supplier, category and month is free and unlimited on every plan — only the AI-interpreted question counts against the plan allowance.

Where does the price data come from?
From the line items on your own receipts. It is what you actually paid, at the suppliers you actually use — not a published price list.
How much history do I need before it is useful?
Supplier totals start being useful after a couple of weeks. Price trends need a few purchases of the same item, so they get better across a build or a season.
Will it alert me when a price drops?
Not yet. Price-drop alerts are not shipped — today you ask the question and get the history.
