Search is free. Ask is the AI one.
There are two ways to look things up. Search takes keywords, like a supplier, a job, an item or an invoice number, and returns the matching receipts with a true total. It is free and unlimited on every plan. Ask takes a question, like "what has the Johnson bathroom cost me so far?" or "materials versus subcontractors this quarter". It answers with a figure, a breakdown, a trend or a comparison, with the receipts behind it. Each Ask question counts against a monthly allowance: 3 on Free, 25 on Plus, 100 on Pro.
Only the question goes to the AI
When you use Ask, the AI model gets the question you typed and nothing else. It does not get your receipts, your amounts, or your list of jobs, clients and suppliers. Names in the question are matched against your own records on our side, and every figure is worked out there.
About item price history
Where does the price data come from?
From the line items on your own receipts. It is what you actually paid, at the suppliers you actually use, not a published price list.
How much history do I need before it is useful?
Supplier totals start being useful after a couple of weeks. Price trends need a few purchases of the same item, so they get better across a build or a season.
Will it alert me when a price drops?
Not yet. Price-drop alerts have not shipped. For now you ask the question and get the history.
