What comes off the paper
The app reads the whole receipt, not just the total at the bottom. Counter receipts and supplier invoices are read the same way.
- Merchant or supplier name, exactly as printed
- Every line item, with quantity, unit price and line total
- Subtotal, discounts, tax, tip, delivery charge, service charge and total
- Purchase date and time, in your own timezone
- Payment method, and the last four card digits when they are printed
- A category from the trades list
It tells you when it is unsure
The app does not guess quietly. If the total or supplier comes back unreadable, the receipt is flagged for review instead of saved wrong. Images that are not receipts are turned away. If a receipt with the same supplier, total and day is already on file, the new one is flagged as a possible duplicate.
The original stays attached
The photo stays with the record, and you can edit every field. The supplier name as printed is never overwritten, so it stays as the audit trail. A clean supplier name is used for grouping and reports.
Cash jobs and lost receipts
Manual entry needs a supplier name and a total. Everything else is optional, so a cash purchase takes a few seconds to record and still counts toward a job like any other receipt.
Camera or gallery, and a connection
Receipts come in as photos, from the camera or your gallery. PDF files and forwarded emails cannot be imported, and scanning needs a data connection. There is no offline mode.
Capture is never paywalled
The camera never asks for money. Scanning is on every plan, including Free with ten AI scans a month. Manual entry, browsing and keyword search are unlimited on every plan. The paid plans add the documents you hand over.
About receipt scanning
What if it reads the receipt wrong?
You can edit every field, and the original photo stays attached. The app also flags receipts where the total or supplier came back unreadable, so they are not saved wrong without you knowing.
Does it read supplier invoices, not just till receipts?
Yes. Photograph an invoice the same way as a counter receipt, and the invoice number is captured when it is printed on the document.
Can I import PDF or emailed receipts?
No. Receipts come in as images, from the camera or the gallery. PDF files and forwarded emails are not supported.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. There is no bank or card feed at all. The app reads the paper, which is also why it works for cash and for accounts you would rather not link.
